Hello all,

I am an expectant father, My partner was due to give birth on Saturday passed (8/6). Now she is overdue so as you will all be aware I am shitting myself with anticipation!

Anyway, We have bought one of those maxi cosi baby seats, according to the supplier it is highly recommended and top of the range.

I am quite tall, 6 foot 4"(and a bit). Don't forget the bit. My seat is pretty much as far back as can go. My partner is reasonably tall also and has the passenger seat quite far back. We have tested the seat in the car behind the passenger seat and yes it fits securely but I may wish to carry the baby in the front seat occasionally.

How do I Turn off the passenger airbag?

Would you recommend carrying the baby in the front seat? (passenger side for now)

Any advice is greatly welcomed!

Carrying in the front is fine aslong as you do it properly.

The airbag turn off is on the passenger side door handle/window switch area. Easy enough to do iirc. If not it's down by your knee pass side on the dash.

That sounds perfect then.
I have had a few baby seats in previous cars and they were always fitted securely and no issues. Is there anything specific for the clio that I may have overlooked?

Don't put a rear facing baby seat in the front until you get the passenger seatairbag deactivated, assume the dealer will be able to do this for you. My wife's Mitsubishi colt allows you to do this by inserting the ignition key in a hole in the glovebox, very handy shame the Clio hasn't got one.

Good luck with the birth feed your missus raspberry tea & pineapple, worked for my last two!

Don't worry mate I don't intend to!

I have heard of the pineapple theory, Just tinned or fresh? May give it a bash although it is looking likely that somethings happening!

Sex is the answer, sperm contains prostoglanden (or somthing like that) which can enduce labour.

As for the car seat, go with ISOfix if you can it makes like 100times easier and is alot safer as theres virtually no chance of human error in fitting the seat which there is when using a seatbelt fixing.
