bad day, still no heat

  Naples 16v

Having spent most of this afternoon tryng to fix my valvers lack of heating with my brother-in-law Im still no closer to solving the prob. Anyone know how I can get the jubilee clip off the bottom radiator hose as we are going to flush the system with rad cleaner ( theory is the heater rad is choked, as on low fan heat is emitted but as soon as you crank it up the heater cools- sound good to any of you) any way I cant get good enough access to drain the bottom hose. IF ANY ONE KNOWS- IM GOING CRAZY

You need to change your heater matrix, its clogged up, and i very much doubt rad cleaner will remove any of the gunk.
i had the same problem, and when i got it out, and changed it, i tried using a pressurised water system to blast the stuff out, wouldnt budge at all.

Heater matrixs are around 30 quid new, just is a pain to change, as u have to take all the dash apart, slide the dash forwards about a foot, so u can get to the heater distribution unit, to get the heater matrix out.

took me 2 days, well around 8 hours, plus i was doing other things, can be done in 6 hours if u work hard on it, not a hard task as such, just fiddly.

Worth doing thou, the heat from a new one is brilliant, very hot.

have u tried back flushing your radiator, just disconnect the radiators feed and return hose from your engineand rinse through using a hose pipe connected to the return hose.
