Balancing Weights On New Alloys...

Hi...

Had some tyres fitted yesterday on my new alloys and was surprised when I saw that wheel weights had been fitted on them. Might be perfectly normal but I thought being brand new they wouldn't need them?? What's the score??

Not all wheels a perfect nor tyres,fact of life I'm afraid.

Normal mate unless there is a lot of weights on them.

Just got some tyre fitted this week on newish wheels and the weights that were taken off and the ones put on were completely different and in different places. I think it is a combination between tyres not being perfect along with the wheels.

i would imagine the wheels are fairly well balanced but when you put a tyre on it it would throw the balance out depending on where the heavier bit of the tyre is on the wheel.

put a new tyre on the same wheel and youd have to be extremley lucky to have the havy bit in exactly the same place to use the same wheel weights. hence theyre in a diffrent place.
