Ball joint rubbers

Hi there, my Mrs has just bought a 182 and while replacing the reluctor ring on the abs the ball joint rubber got split. For the 205 gtis these are available through someone on the forum I was wondering if it was the same case on here.
The joints still stiff and has grease in it so still has plenty of life left.

Ball joints are about £7 from ecp.

How long do they last?

Alot of the cheap stuff from ECP has barely hit the 10k miles mark for me. Utter waste of money if you ask me.

Ive had one on about 3 years without issue.

They do lemforder oem spec ones too at around £17 iirc.

Luck of the drawer I guess. How many miles do you cover in yours?

On a friend's 172 the balljoint was knocking after a year of it being a daily driver (I seem to remember he changed them a few times at one point) and on my 147 the upper arm went from being new to a failure within a year ; An Italian specialist did not laugh in my face much when he asked me what brand of arm I fitted.

OTOH I have been lucky with cheap bits on a couple of occasions.
