**BANG BANG, Braking Problem - pls Help**

  MKV Golf GTi (240bhp)
I was diving down a bumpy stretch of road and suddenly my front brakes went gave off a loud knocking sound, and the traction control icon on the dash flashed on and off a few times, then the brakes were fine

at the moment there is quite alot of give in the pedal when i go to brake so am not sure if i am loosing braking power

any help would be great

thanks

Duncan

The wheels have most probably lost grip and bounced about traction control kicked in as front wheels were going quicker than the back (since they were still gripping). Nothing to do with brakes as such.

Best bleed the brakes depedning how you drive they can need bleeding sometimes best stick better dot 4 fluid in instead as it lasts longer.

I had a loud bang from my brakes a few months back and lost all feel in the pedal. I immediately noticed one of the rear pads had disappeared and took a big gouge out of my alloy wheel.
Might be worth having a look to see if all is well on yours.
