Banging from the back

Hello, I've got a banging (it's sounds like water being thrown against the side) noise and the rear when i pull away mainly. Also my shock is leaking slightly from the same side, would the shock only do this noise when I pull away or would it make that noise at all? Tried to explain it as simple as poss

Without doubt its your shock, i had mine replaced not so long ago as one of mine was leaking, even the slighest bump in the road would cause a loud bang at the back of the car, all sorted now though remember its advisable to replace both shocks at the same time, there £50 each to buy
