if you get two SP30s in your first 2 years of driving, how long is the ban likely to be? Do you need to take your practical test again? also, how much is this likely to affect your insurance?

Its not a ban...

You can re-take your test the next day if you can get the slot.

and you have to re-do both the theory and practical tests

sorry, i thought you got an instant ban for it? you still have to go to court i gather?

also, is there a fine?

no ban, just have to retake your test again, happened to my mate, when they first introduced it, he was off the road for only about 3 weeks!

As a new driver if you get 6 points in the first 2 years of your driving career you automatically go back to being a Provisional Licence Holder. All you have to do is re-take both parts of your test and you are up ad running again.

The only fine is the £60 for each SP30. Mind you your Ins company will probably hate you for a while.!!
