I had the same problem m8, trust me it will go back just will take a while to do. I reckon I have more cables than most behind my headunit, my 2 amps plus alternator thingy, aerial and cd changer wires, plus speaker wires.

I drove round for a few months with my head unit sticking out a bit, not very safe as it’s a Sony flip down and doesn’t come off plus my car didn’t have an alarm back then.

Anyway don’t bother with cutting the metal bit, just force the wires underneath that metal bit as much as possible, try to get as much of the wire under it as possible. Then force the headunit in as far as it will go, if it don’t go all the way take it back out move some off the wires and try again, trust m8 it will go back, I thought mine would never go back, and in the end it did, just keep trying.

I think the bar thats in the way is a support bracket for the bottom of the dash board.

You should be able to get all the wires back in there (just).

Ive got a Sony competition head unit in my car which just has pre-outs for front, rear and sub amps + 2 ariels, CD changer + all the bits for my in-car hands free for my mobile.

So just keep trying.

AH HA!!

i can help here!!! i have just put in my rockford fosgate headunit, subs and amps into my valver. This is how you do it!

1. Route all the ISO cables down the right side of the stereo space, and then pull them all through so they are hanging out into the drivers foot well (bit of a bit£$ch but can be done!)

2. Make sure u then route the Renault ISO block down the left side of the headunit space, into the passengers foot well

3. Now route the stereos cables behind the Headunit space (around the back) and feed them into the passengers foot well (probably need to take of the clutch rest to bend the plastic back a bit i had to do this cause there was a HUGE power bulge thing on the headunit cable

4. Once this is done there should be enough slack to plug the stereos ISO into the renaults ISO in the passenger footwell!

5. Tuck all the cables up , screw in the clutch rest JOB DONE!

this took me work out how to do but as you now have the instructions should only take about 30 mins!
