BB De-Cat! How Good

Hi peeps,

Yesterday booked my car in with BB for there De-cat pipe. I was just wondering what others with BBs pipe thought of it.

What does it sound like?

Will it flame like some people who de-catted? (or is this dependent on cars)

Ive got one. Dont know if its much different from other de-cats on the market, but its certainly loud and spits flames!

Will all cars that it is fitted to spit flames or does it depend on the car itself

Mine backfires when the car has just had a damn good thrashing in 3rd gear. If I take it to the end of 3rd and then let the car slow down in gear, every now and then I get a pop and a spurt of flame!

Im at uni in sheffield at the moment!! I finish in month so am back from then.

apparently they are easy to change and so will change it when my MOT comes.

My mate in newport who does bodywork and engine stuff says that he can swap it over in 10mins so no prob there.

i dont get it, you dont have to change your de cat back for the cat when you go for an MOT.

As long as it meets teh emissions, even if it has no cat then its a pass. MOT tests have points to meet, having a cat is not one of them.

Mine pops like a rally car from 3 grand up burbles when slowing down and if you change gear slow above 4 and a half grand it pops real loud and flames quite oftern. It loads louder too i think its knocked the baffles out of my exhaust cos it got louder over the last month but it wicked, people hear me coming before i can see them!!!

A decat is just a piece of pipe. No difference between them.

I had one on my valver. But it made it run like a bag of sh*te. And was so b*****d loud. It came back. Didnt really notice any diffference. Like Anders said. I wouldnt want to be heard coming. I prefer it quiet.

The boot it and let the induction kit let people no your coming. Far nicer sound than a loud exhaust. Just not a fan of loud exhausts!!

I was thinking of going for no cat when my exhaust eventually goes, butill get the whole system replaced and go for a custom chip too (start saving now steve).

The chip should cure any bag of sh*t problems
