BB vs. K-Tec

So Im browsing both of them sites right now...

And I dont know why, I like K-Tec more. I didnt have a chance to test products from neither K-Tec or BB, but ...

On BB web site, they constantly use terms as "cheaper, unlike others, better then Renault" bla bla bla...seems quite childish and unproffesional...

I mean, I aint gonna buy a turbo just because you said its better then the other one...

They both have good stuff, bought from both of them.... And good service too.. Always get a reply when emailing... can take a few days, but they are probably just succesfull/busy!!!

Will buy there again :D

Agreed, both quality firms.

Always helpfull on the phone and always reply to my emails as well.....!

Go with your heart.....lol

I have asked BB about there turbo conversion and they have been rubbish with information. They wont sell me parts for my conversion ie pistons etc. So I spoke Dave at K tec racing and we had some custom jobbies made from Je. Just shows that Dave is willing to help out for the Little bits and BB only want the big sales in my opinion. I could have spent alot of money with BB.

Ive only used k-tec. Great website, they seem professional and David clearly can be trusted. Theyve got everything i need. Communication problem needs to be addressed, and their photocopy instructions are a bit pants.

Well Ive mail ordered bits from K-Tec before, no problems really. But BB is the main place I use for everything, its local to me and I know them there so thats why I use it. In fact I wouldnt trust anyone else to work on my car except myself.

I dont know about K-Tecs turbo conversion or even if there are K-Tec turbo Clios out on the roads. But BB do have working Clio turbos out on the streets and plenty of them- designing a complete turbo conversion that actually works is no 5 minute job, and if I was them I wouldnt want to sell all the parts separately either. Look at their turbo catalogue and youll see theres very little labour or profit on the whole cost. And if youre that good with the spanners that you are doing a home-made turbo conversion (eg. Ben Red 16) then youve also got the know-how to find suppliers for the parts you need?

Still, lets hear more about your turbo youve been working on!

Ive had loads of stuff for my R5 GTT off BB and never had a problem.

All good stuff, decent prices, helpful people.

K-Tec look just as good though and I will use them...

The engine has JE low compression forged pistons, Arrow persion billet steel conrods, knife edged crank, Lightened and balanced crank, flywheel and clutch assembly, K tec uprated competion clutch. Pace Intercooler, Alloy pipe work. Garrett T25 Hybrid turbo. Dumpvalve, Alloy header tanks. Pipercross airfilter, Custom Stailnless exhausts with tin oval tail Pipes.

I need Headgasget and head bolts, and also a Dastek Unichip and bigger injectors to finish it.

I think we are all quite lucky to have 2 very proffesional, very good businesses catering for the Clio.

Big up KTR & BBPT!:D

Any chance of a free turbo conversion now! :p
