Evening all. Planning on ordering some BC DS over the next week. Those of you who do the odd track day have you gone 7 or 8 for your front springs? Also while I’m at it would a PMS arb compliment the coilovers?

Yeah. He went a lot softer And with the Br series. Spent most of last night reading through old posts but couldn’t find an answer

If it's mostly used on the road with just a trackday every now and then I'd go 7kg personally, especially if you're coming from standard shocks and lowering springs. It will already be stiffer than it was before and with a proper setup the handling will greatly improve while not being horrendous to drive.

Hi,

I recently fitted some BC DS coilovers on my 172 this year.

After reading the threads on here and going round in circles.

I spoke to BC themselves. They recommended that I went for 6kg front and 8kg rear.

Mine is used on road and does 3 or 4 trackdays a year which I drive too and from

My Clio had cup shocks and eibach pro springs before which I really liked on the road but found a little too soft for track.

The coilovers are massive improvement on track over that setup and the car is a lot better in the corners. My Clio also runs a white line rear anti roll bar (great mod)

But even at 6/8kg i feel it’s quite a stiff ride for the road compared with the cup shocks and eibach springs.
But that just could be that the DS dampers are more suited to track more than road or it’s just me getting old. I guess there has to be a comprise somewhere.

I personally wouldn’t go stiffer than 7/8kg on a car that gets used on the road. Buts that’s just me. What works for me might not work for you.

The good thing about BC’s is you can change the springs if your unhappy.

Rear spring rate makes far more difference to ride comfort than front.

8 kg rear springs are more than twice as stiff as OEM and inevitably you feel that.

Thank you all. Kev at Kam racing recommended 7kg front just wonted to make sure that wouldn’t be too soft. I’ve got no idea what’s on the car currently. Looks like the springs might be blue under all the dirt. Only had it for about a month and just working my way through getting bits sorted.
