belt tension spring

Just fitted new aux belt kit.
The belt is tight and the spring on the tensioner isn't just compressed but also bending due to the pressure.
Is this normal or is it broken?

Thanks for the confirmation, I didn't think it looked to healthy.
Is the spring available separately or do I need the full kit?
