Bent front jacking points...!!

cant believe they bend so damn easy...just searched and obviously other people have had this problem..just spoke to my local dealer and they say theyve had not heard of this. bit cheesed off cus ive only done 4500 miles.

mine bent on both my clios, bent them back with hammer, i now use the rear axle to lift the rear and to lift front i just use the jacking points real carefully, as i dont know where else to jack the car at the front, where is the best place?

mine bent, but I cant really see them unless I'm under the car, so f.k em, they can stay bent..

Don't use a metal hammer straight onto your car. Use a hide/nylon faced hammer or at the very least cover the area in thich fabric.

Dolly might not be neccessary. Primary use of a dolly is for riveting.

Heat it up to make the metal softer so you dn't induce excess stress point in it.

When the jacking points are bent back straight, the paint around that area will probably crack. The area will need to be painted.

If you bend it back I wouldn't use the point again cos you're making the metal weaker!

Use the chassis further back. The jacking points are shite anyway.

One of mine is bent, i dont use it anymore. Just leave it and use the area in front or behind the jacking point.

i use the subframe at the front and back. seems a bit safer

I have made a jacking tool out of some wood that spreads out the weight more along the lower sill to take the stress off the crap jacking points. :approve:

think i'll just leave them bent and use the front of the chassis from now on, dont wanna go bending them back and cracking the paint, that would cheese me off even more.. dont really notice them unless u look anyway.

Mine have gone too!!!! Just leave them as they are coz if you bend them back and don't get them completley straight they will bend the other way!!!!
