Tips for getting gearbox back on

plenty

Working by myself with access to floor jacks and a two-post lift. Subframe lowered on one side and box going in that way.

It's heavy and I'm struggling to get it back on the block by myself. Thought about raising the car and using a transmission jack, but how do I secure the box when lifting so it doesn't fall out of the subframe?

Grateful for suggestions.

Bench press it in place and hold with one hand whilst threading a bolt in has always been my method..jc5 is light so super easy.

On a serious note the studs/box spline hold it in whilst getting a bolt in. First thing to check is that the clutch release bearing is still in place and has not fallen off the clutch fork

I did what Brigsy did. Box on the chest, then bench press it up, get a bolt in.

The second time around, I took the engine out, much easier.
