Best 40/42" TV for circa £700

Looking to purchase a new TV, will be used for casual viewing/films & internet TV. Not really bothered about 3D but most seem to come with it now.

I bought a 42 inch Samsung about 8 years ago. It's still going strong. I'll be sticking with Samsung when it needs replacing.

My mate has just got the Samsung one in 42 inch. Cracking bit of kit tbf. My uncle is mad about tv's and he always tells me to go for a Sony. Rates them over any other manufacturer but that's him. Food for thought though as his tv's are excellent.

Stay clear of any brand you haven't heard of.. and LG are shockingly bad.

Stick with Samsung, Panny or Sony.

I got a samsung 43inch plasma for 330 from tescos picture is brillant and looks really nice

We got a Samsung 40" smart TV about 18 months ago. The only thing is that it's a paint to use online, only ever done it a couple of times. I went a bought a surround system to go with the TV

They are cheap for a reason. But as long as you are happy then that's all that matters.. got a good warranty ?
