best 6x9 for cup

i have fitted replacement speakers in the front of my cup with pioneers and have them running of a sony amp. at the moment have an alpine sub in boot running of amp but thinking of replacing amp with 6x9 in stealth shelf and running them of amp. what should i get? £100-150

Probably some of the best 6*9s Ive heard are the Infinitys. 100w Rms so a fair bit of power and good bass handling.

But tbh, best thing is go to Halfords and they have a wall with all there speakers on it, just try them all out till you find some YOU like. Its all about personal taste at the end of the day.

yea i got the infinitys, quality from them is really gd , for 6x9s anyway

although i used 2 amp them and only had treble really going 2 them with hardly any bass and then had a sub amped for the bass

but now i run the 6x9s off hu and theres no bass from them anymore really, but doesnt matter as sub does that and less bass = less chance of them blowing etc

What front speakers do you have? Are they any good?

My brother used 2 have some infinities and they f**ked up after a few months. Id recomend alpine

i have the infinitys amped up. they are awesome, i have no sub at all and una lot of bass through them, theyve never let me down and everyone thinks i have a sub running...i have the setup u seem to be after...

out of interest why wouldu go from sub to 6x9s?

I wouldnt bother with 6x9s

Uprate the 4 incar speakers and if u still need more bass get a 10" boxed sub...

I always think Simple installs sound better

david, how long have you had the amp installed like that? give it time and you will melt it, amps are not meant to be mounted upside down as all the heat given off is supposed to be released through the heat sink!

yeecup, there is no such thing as good 6x9s, stick with the sub and amped fronts, it will sound so much better, if you have money buring a whole in your pocket, either give it to me or upgrade your fronts or amps/

lol LOADS of people have told me that...but u know what ive been on some long journeys of late and been very worried. 1 journey recently was over an hour with it on very very loud...was all worried and stuff. when i came to the end of my journey i got out and checked to find it was still damn cold!? wtf?! i though tthye were supposed to heat up like mofos?! i dont really do journeys longer than this so if it stays this way not too bothered.

had it in there for like a month or so i guess.

parcel shelf must weight a ton with all that on it!! spose it keeps things a bit tidier, need 2 neaten up my boot really and sort out my wires better

amp might be cold but internals might be burning away, hope u keep fire extinguisher in car lol, look in rear view mirror and u just c flames, better than neons on parcel shelf anyway

Infinitys are good - my mate has some in his escourt and they really do boom out quality sound.

Ive got kickers in mine though which are just as good.
