best antivirus at the mo

looking to buy a new pc and need the best antivirus i can, where would you buy it how much would you pay for it, and can i use it on more than one pc ?

If you want a free one get AVG anti virus, its free from download.com (a cnet site which is 100% safe) it has over 100 million downloads, very popular.

If you want to pay I would settle with mcafee or Norton

i've got avg. picks up so much more than the virgin one i had. it gets quite annoying when you try to download things and it wont let you because it not safe haha. its what it is there for though.

Dont get AVG or Norton, both sometimes leave parts of viruses or spyware. For industry protection get F-SECURE. It sniffs out all the bad stuff very quickly. And has second to none hacker protection.

Free, low on resources and an excellent detection rate.

If you really feel the need to pay then go for Kaspersky or NOD32.

Always found NOD32 to be a good un and AVG is usually very good, low system resource useage.
