Best Browser

Search is disabled for some reason, I think its this computer...

Anyway, I'm currently using IExplorer version whatever it is now. I've heard good things about Firefox and Mozilla or something. Which is the best, and anyone have any good download links?

Thanks people. Need to get with the times ;)

Google Firefox and get downloading. Its just about the best allround browser. Opera is quicker, but its a bit random.

Thanks guys, Firefox was the main choice, just needed confirmation. Never really strayed away from Internet Explorer. Is it really a lot better as a browser, or does it just look nicer and open things slightly faster?

Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and then download the graphite theme where you can change the appearance of the browser to the Apple Safari look which is pretty cool.

That's what I'm using at the moment, works well.

Opens things faster, doesn't make silly noises. Is easier to customize and generally much more user friendly than even the latest Internet Explorer 7.

You won't go back to IE once you've got Firefox matey.

Only compare the newest browsers, as all the other browsers weree tested on a different computer, using different benchmarks.

Customise Firefox to how ever you want it, millions of plugins and adons to be had + you have higher security over most others, but still not so raw that it blockes all scripts, making browseing a pain.

At the end of the day, any other established browser will be better than IE, IE plays catch up.

Firefox by a country mile, tabbed browsing alone is sent from the gods, then theres the customisability, , the security, the lack of active x, the downloadable themes, the extensions - video downloader comes to mind, grabs video from you tube etc.

IE sucks balls, you'll never go back to using it - promise ;)

ok. ide stick with internet explorer. ive switched to firefox and ive had alot of problems with it. im sure if you ever get it up and running and add every pug in that you may need it can be a decent browser, but ive its just alot of hassle. this is in my experience. to this day i still cant get any websites that play flash videos to work. it tells me to download a plug in which isnt there to be downloaded

lol. I f*cking hate it when you write a long reply and you get an error page up. Click 'back' and the b@stard's gone! I blame Hitler. He was a vegetarian did you know?

I use Opera now and again. Had it for years. Love the new version, but I just cant get used to Firefox personally I think its aload of overhiped poo. It runs really slow and it actually makes me start using IE again.

Might try that Mac one when I get home.

I've been a Firefox user for a while now but didn't like it initially, but when you have it set up it's great.

The best thing for me is the password manager, because I'm lazy.
I have all my forums bookmarked at "new posts", and open them all at once in tabs across the screen.

I also like having the weather forecast, iTunes control, a calendar, etc, etc within the browser :)

Hang on a second.

Right, from the kick off, I'm downloading Firefox when I get in.
Now, what else do I need? Whats all these extras? Where can I get them from? I want ALL the plugins that I need but am getting put off a bit by a few negative comments :(

you dont need any, just download

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

then if you require any addons go to 'Tools' within the browser.

Give it a go anyway, you might not like it, but there isnt a browser out thats better.

I've taken to copying anything I've typed before I click submit.

Firefox version 2.0 here, not had any problems with it at all..
Better for browsing although when you swap from IE6 the pictures loading last seems a bit weird.

Wouldn't go back to IE if you paid me to. ;)
