Best Clay Kit for a beginner.

I'd like to clay my car, but having never done it before, I'd quite like a complete kit to do it with.

I understand I need a clay bar and a product to use as a lubricant?

Has any one got any recommendations for a beginner.

I've already got plenty of microfibre cloths to wipe it down after.

The Meguiars one in Halfords is very good, I got that as a starter kit and found it very good to use.

Yea I was looking at that, I guess its quite good value for two clay bars, plus lubricant, plus microfibre. but was just wondering if there was a kit with just the lubricant and clay bar, that people recommended more than the meguiars one.

Agreed. Both me and my brother (Dan R) used it on a Clio and a Megane and seemed really easy to use for a first time. Good price as you get 2 bars, quick detailer, small bit of cleaner wax and a microfibre.

Im also about to give claying a go, was going to get the Megs kit from Halfords.

That's a good kit. I just used the Autoglym clay kit also from Halfords and the same price. I think you get slightly more clay with the ag kit, all be it in a single block bit you just pull a chunk off. You get half a litre of quick detailer a wee bottle of super resin polish and a micro fiber and some of those polishing cloths that look like lace curtains.
It seems to be a mild.clay like the megs kit but the results were very good and did pull off a lot of crud but struggled with the tar I missed with tardis.
I'd say there is enough clay for 3 clios but will run out of lube and polish after 2.

That to be honest. Although just get the kit with the one bar and the spray. Around £15 I think. Really good stuff for minor deposits. If you have anything more serious on the paint, ie. tar, overspray, you'll have to buy a more heavy duty meguiars one.

ive used Bilt-Hamber Auto-Clay in the past, the good thing with this is you can use simple water for lube.

I think I might go with:
I4D Uber Lime Clay Bar @ £6.90, then
Dodo Juice Born Slippy Clay Lube @ £6.90


£13.80 altogether (Before Discount). Unless there's a better alternative for the Lube?
And that bar is twice as big as the Meguiars Quik clay Kit one.

Buy the Meguiar's bulk quick detailer. You can dilute it 2:1 and it comes in handy for all sorts.
