Best compound/polish for headlights

Car  Evo 6, E92 320d
My headlights have some bad weathering and scratches to them, i have tried plastx and speedglaze on them(by machine) which helped but not fully. What else is worth trying?

Menz 106FA on a polishing pad should sort them out

Or, if you wait a few weeks, Megs are releasing a dedicated headlight kit :)

I sanded down quite a bit, So worked back up with autosol (quite abrasive) then scratch X, Then Megs swirl remover. Still needs some work though.

The Megs kit which is coming out looks great, so I'd wait for that. Attaches to any electric drill I believe.

It looks like its just plastx with a foam pad, i have a UDM and plastx already. I need something with a stronger cut which is safe on plastics.

It's a reformulated version I think, and you get specific pads etc for Plastic.

Try the Menz compounds on a 4" spot pad.

depends on how bad the plastics are, mine i just use srp on a finishing pad

for cars like run arounds and estates etc i might up that to menz IP on a cutting pad, then final finish or srp, what ever i am in the mood for.

how bad are your lights to have to use pastx??

Jamie, the top of the lights if quite weathered, the plastic has gone slighly brown, also some scratches where stones have hit i think.

I think you may be right Andy, ill give it a try sunday.

Bro-In-Law did it to his Fiat Coupe Lights and it worked a treat but then just get a few good layers of products on afterwards to try and stop it from happening again
