As amazing as they are, it'd be an odd one to own as your only camera.. a bit like a film camera, fun mind.

OP, depends what you want to shoot, do you want a pocket compact for snaps, travel and drunken nights out or something with some zoom, hit some sports or wildlife?

Buying a pocket compact now, I'd consider a Canon IXUS 130 IS or an Olympus Mju for its underwater ability and shockproof features...

Great little camera - a bit slow sometimes but works well under water

I have the Olympus Tough 8000 model

Shop around i got a really good fuji bridge camera for £160 , in the sales last xmas. It had 150 off the rrp

Lumix TZ10 without a doubt imo, some of the photos i've seen it take are amazing for what it is, sometimes tempted to sell my DSLR and get one
