Best gearbox oil

Looking for some gearbox oil and got conflict of answers. NFJ 75-80 correct? And best to go with elf?

is marketing..
drink some orange squash, ribena, or lemon.. all does the same thing..
providing you get the same viscosity as recommended all will be good

Also I've got a sump plug from my old 1.2 clio and new wing nut from my old 1.2.will these both fit the 182!?

Not strictly true as some oil has additives that destroy synchro rings. Also a gl4 75/80 isn't the same as a gl5 75/80. The gl5 is slipperier.

You don't need to replace the sump plugs really, only the washers.

Possibly, you'd have to compare the threads on your ones to see if they're the same size.

Meh, gearbox isn't pressurised anyway, so i just re-use the washer and nip it up. Never had one leak in about 30 changes.

True, they just leak from the gear selector instead lol.

MTL is the best oil for the jc5's as far as I'm concerned.
