Best PC for games

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
Im just wondering, whats the best computer to go for if i was into gaming in a big way.Are there any out there or is it better to self build one and get cheaper parts.
My mate has a good system(dont know which)but his computer is really fast and he plays this star wars game that comes from the states and it looks really impressive..
Cheers

oh dear.....

cue PC geeks to bore you to death with pc specs

lol, simply, not one from PC World. If you want a mean machine, get a local shop to build you one (if you dont to it yourself) as you can spec all the components.

try alienware if money is no object

God nooooo.

I bought 34 Alienware PCs and every single one of them had a problem. That was over £120ks worth of hardware. I'd never buy Alienware ever again.

Even the free stuff they gave me didn't make up for the extra work they have caused me.

According to Alienware they put all components through rigorous testing.

Out of 34 all 34 had the chipset fan fail. Now that's an Asus part, but they can't have tested them for long if the fail rate is 100%. We also had various hard drive/RAID problems, failing DVD Rom drives and the odd stick of dodgy RAM.

For what you pay you get decent components though not quite the best, and a stupid case with a plastic cover. The wiring is nice and neat but too neat and tight to make working on it easy.

Personally I'd never spend my own or companies money on one ever again. I'm not buying the office ones from the link I posted above. They'll custom build using whatever I like.

pcs from pc world do play games.

even my laptop plays games

Yeah but they don't play them very well for the price you paid for it, i.e. you got robbed.

oh my - buying a PC from PC World or Dell for that matter in order to play games is the silliest thing you can possible do - companies like this feed of peoples lack of knowledge on the subject.

So it - build your own or get a shop to - twice the kit for half the money. Sorted.
