Best place to get a SD card?

As above, minimum 512mb, take it they are all pretty much the same? Any brands to be avoided?

funny thing is about SD cards, a lot of them are the same under the sticker!

for example. i got a bravo SD 2gb card - take the sticker off and its a tohiba!

its not high speed, but TBH i cant tell the difference!

also, i think most camera manufacturers use toshiba. The fujifilm branded card is a toshiba... yet you pay more as it has a fujifilm sticker on it!!!

You wont until you try shooting full size at a track day or such then the faster card comes in to it's own.

Mines only a 3.2mp camera so the pics aint huge but it still takes a while saving some of them. I assume it would say in the manual somewhere if it would accept a high speed one?

It might do, as long as the card is correct I dont think the speed matters.

true, but mine is only a 5mp compact so the gigh speed probably wouldnt be beneficial TBH. And i cant complain with the 2gb standard card as i swapped it for my ms-duo!

Speed comes into its own with SLR cameras, as to take multiple shots fast, the cache in the camera needs to dump the pictures into the memory card, the quicker that can be done the faster you can take pictures, and with a slower card you won't be able to take as many pictures quickly.
