Best polish for a porter cable?

Hi, i've noticed a few little scratches on my car, and some that are quite deep.

I've searched the forums and it looks like for the deeper scratches I should get a toothpick and use some paint but

1)Where do I get the paint if I have a flame red? Renault?
2)How long do I leave it there?
3)What do I do after?

My mate has a PC and I suggested me buying some red tcut and him going over it but he says it will ruin my paint as I need special machine polish... What do you recommend?

Also is there a good colour polish or other product I can use by hand if I have a weekend spare? I've seen scratch X but it looks like that just removes a layer of laquer off?

Would skip the T Cut by machine.

Poorboys SSR's or Menzerna.

Any polish will remove lacquer thats how it removes the scratches.

Didn't know that? I thought the coloured stuff 'filled' in the scratches
