Set them to how you like it.

Does this really warrant asking people's opinions?!

The stereo in a 1*2 is one of the worst ever. It's the one thing I hated about my 182.

So basically, what you's are saying, get a decent HU?

I sold a canny one because i didnt want to loose the steering wheel controls and i read somewhere that the display doesnt show up what songs etc on dashboard?

I can't speak for other brands, but I've had an Alpine head unit with the correct leads, meaning the display still worked and the steering wheel controls still worked.

Daniel, I agree that the standard Clio II setup is shockingly bad but the newer stuff in general is great and even the Cabasse in my Laguna II was amazing in comparison.

Decent component speakers alone will make a HOOGE difference.

I've been in a couple of Clios with suprisingly good standard audio..

But as seat a good HU and a decent set of speakers is your best bet.. The 6.5" speaker upgrade will give you your best output, because you can get more bass from a bigger woofer..

The standard non-Cabasse HU is limited but yes, decent speakers will be a worthwhile upgrade.

I'm considering getting a new head unit and changing door speakers. I do agree that the standard system in my 182 is terrible.

Sorry mate, have to agree to disagree with you on that one. Laguna II, even in cabasse form was average at best.

Audi, VW, Ford etc all fit vastly superior audio.

My Y reg Audi A6 (With its basic factory fit CD player!) is light years ahead than anything Renault/Pug/citroen have to offer.

Bass should never go above 0

treble i like to add a little maybe +2 at a push

Fade slightly forward so front +1 or +2

and Loudness definatly off

There may be a way to connect an Alpine KTP-445 to the standard head unit if you want to improve things

Looks like a KTP-445U will

Audio is still something I need to do to my car. Alpine HU and speakers all around, and maybe an amp for them.

no but I'm pretty sure the sound doesn't come from the side of you either :p

I do see your point though, having the sound behind you is a bit odd

The design of the grills and angle of the speaker throws the sound back..
