best suspension mod

Hi



I have a mk1 172. I would like to lower the car a little (25mm?) and also eliminate a little roll.

Firstly if I do this, do you have to have the camber angle set after

Secondly what is the best setup/package available and how much

probably cheapest/best and about that drop would be the ebiach springs.

Eibachs, do a search and therell be loads of threads on the buggers...

Worth every penny IMHO

Pesonally i dont like progressive springs because by the time your into the harder poundage your well into your suspension travel and your safety dynamic geometry changes are well underway.

I prefer a straight linear poundage spring that lowers to the amount you want.

But it depends what you want really.

Hey Ben, Im not technically sound... so whats the difference bet progressive springs and st linear springs? Are you referring to coilovers vs springs and shocks? Thanks.

Progressively wound springs have tighter coils at one end of the spring to the other, which means as you progress through the travel of the spring it gets stiffer. Its a compromise for road cars where you retain ride quality but when you hammer it into a corner where more body role is induced you reach the stiffer part of the spring. Where as a linear spring has equal coils through its travel but is stiffer from the beginning but for a road car has a harsh ride quality in comparison.

Each type of spring can be used with both coilovers and normal sping/shocks

Linear springs can pop out! I would stick with prog springs with road use, and the Eibachs appear to be the ones to go for.

Im getting mine doen as soon as I can find out which ones are best.

On the K-tec site they state Eibachs do 20mm front and 15mm rear but guys on here ahve said they only do 10mm all round...whats the score?

Id rather go for Eibachs but not sure how much different a cup would look with them.
