By hand?? Impossible "almost"..Super Resin Polish will do a little bit of correction by hand but not much..will fill it in more then anything.

Or maybe megs scratch X and work the cnut in hard by hand.

Ah by DA...

I have SSR 2.5 and it didnt do that much to certain areas on my car...but then again it was the first time I was using the DA and I dont think id used it long enough on the panel to be honest. Been using the Menzerna stuff up recently and quite like that.

okay, and i should use a cutting pad on the polisher right? sorry quite new to using one. its not mine its my mates but hes only used it to polish his car once or twice.

3m Fast Cut + by rotary on a 3m green pad. Then refine with Menzerna! and you get this:

I believe you can correct swirl marks with a DA richy. just takes alot more time

Menzerna power finish is meant to be quite good by hand

Personally id use the medium type pad first and see what happens..if you dont get enough cut step up to the more abrasive one (cutting pad)

Apparently DA's are easier to use for newbies...Ive yet to use a rotary so cant comment myself. The DA almost shakes my arm off

If you're using a DA i highly recommend the Menzerna stuff. Pads & polishes. Menzerna power finish (203s) with the white high cut pad worked a treat on mine. Got rid of most swirl marks, blemishes & hazyness. Also worked fantastic on scratches. Only problem im having is with the slightly deeper swirls. I then done a round of the car again using Menzerna final finish with the yellow softer cutting pad. That has a nice low cut & added more gloss to the finish etc before glaze,wax..

If you do get a Rotary, get some scrap panels to practice on 1st. If you don't learn to use it properly you'll make the paintwork more hologrammy. Or worse still buff through the paint.

okay sorry i got confused. its a rotary polisher. are they really that difficult to use? seen people using the and they dont look overly difficult i thought you had to just keep it moving and keep the mop wet/damp to stop you from melting the paint?

And you dont have to press down on the polisher a huge amount. With a rotary polisher i would definitely step up with different types of pads starting with a softer pad first instead of jumping in the deep end with a aggressive pad and polish with a big cut.

Start on a very low speed (as low as it goes) to spread the polishe. Build up the speed, I rarely use it above about 2.5/3. Keep it moving so not to rub through. Finish on the slowest speed to burnish/refine the finish to a better shine. Start with a light polish and pad combo and work up until you get 1 that works. A lcc white pad with Menzerna intensive is a good comb, then finish with Final Finish on a lighter pad. The key is to work the polish to break it down. TAKE YOUR TIME. Oh and don't wet the pad.
