big brake upgrade

When getting a big brake kit, which to my knowledge are usually just the front discs, is it advisable to get the rear discs replaced aswell?

You can fit Bremo calipers under the 16" wheels. But as daz says, they are not needed.

Best to just upgrade the pads and fit braided hoses, for the 172/182.

I have Mintex 1177 race pads on mine, with Bembo hi carbon discs.
And the car stopping power is awesome.

:D

Rear brakes do nothing realy in the scheme of things So no point upgradings.

There a load of uprated bits it depends what you want and what car you have.

182WRC - How do the pads behave from cold??

Completely fine, but I do like to put a little heat into them, just to be on the safe side. They do squeel a little, and I need to wash the wheels once a week, to keep the dust off them.

But, imo, it's worth having good brakes for.

Isn't there a way to get the brakes 'balanced' so that rear brakes have more stopping power?

The front needs the stopping to much rear braking and you'll spin round on bends and the car will be very unstable.
