Big problem with my car

I have the light in the centre of my dials that came on while driving and now I have lost some serious power while driving. With my foot down all the way it moves like I have my foot down an inch. Its the same in all gears.
My manual doesn't really help me much either.

Here is the light (the centre one)

probably the coil pack.it'll be in safe mode thats why it wont rev.

Yeah, its in limp mode, don't worry about that.

It is an electrical fault somewhere.

Coilpack most likely or may be the ECU case vibrating against the wires.

Mine did that and it needed new plugs. No coil pack or anything. just new plugs.

if you wait for a few seconds before turning over the car, it doesnt come on, in my experience, i always used to have that problem, and now wait for a few secs, no problem

Probably the HT leads, but they're all the same unit as your coil pack.

AA won't charge labour to fix it... just a hint there...

The AA bloke said it was a wire that had worn down, so he taped it up and plugged the cables back in and it works perfectly now.

It was probably the ECU case rubbing.

There is a fix somewhere for it.

i cant imagine my 1.2 getting any slower than it allready is. if it did go slower than it allready does itd blooddy stall and stop.

My 1.2 16v did the safe mode thing on the way to work at about 5am one day.
It wasnt too bad on the flat I could get about 45mph but as soon as there was a SLIGHT hill that was it.
I was lucky to get up some of them.
It always did missfire a bit when cold, I didnt do anything about it. It gave me plenty of warning tho. I should have looked into it at the time. I sometimes forget I joined the RAC for a reason!

I got the plugs changed and it did
