BIG SPOILERS and TOP SPEEDS

um, they dont go together.

it is possible to create downforce with minimal drag increases, but you generally have to have an f1 car on the drive.

ok, what im getting at, how big a reduction of top speed do big spoilers have on road cars??

I know its a insanely hard question to answer as there are so many variables (gearing/torque/spoiler size/drag)

but could a quite large spoiler reduce top speed from say 135 to 115??

yes.

Not to mention that the actual increase in downforce will not be outweighed by the increase in drag.

Not to mention the fact that amatuer aerodynamics can serioulsy affect how a car handles at speed. you could end up with a light front and sticky rear.

TY????

yea, it wont help really........since ligt is generated over a cars whole bodya nd there is a singular point where the higers lift is felt, so youd have to find that first.

oops, my spelling!

revised version!

since lift is generated over a cars whole body and there is a singular point where the higer lift is felt, so youd have to find that first.

DOH!!!!

aint you guys nevere heard of higer lift!!??

come one, its only the singular polar moment of inertail bi tortional negative pressure differentials!

LOL @ frosty! Bet the driver thought he was driving a F22cross!!!!!!

BenR surely you are forgetting a mulitude of combinational factors such as inviscid flows; potential flows; vortex motion; Aerodynamics of airfoils; viscous flows, boundary layer theory, transition and turbulent flows. .......LOL
