Bigger Engine ?

I have a 52 plate Clio its a 1.2 8v and it just way to slow for me im only 18 so cant get to big an engine but im thinking about geting a slightly bigger engine maybe 1.4 maybe push it to 1.6 16v,

i get the feeling that if i change the engine i will keep geting problems with the car, has any changed there engine? how did it go? any problems?

Whats prices am i looking at to buy say a 1.6 engine with not to many miles on it? and what else would i need to change?, i got a few mates who could fit it for me so that shouldnt cost me to much to do, once iv changed the engine what do the dvla need to know?

Sounds like a loads of hassle to me, and won't the insurance be more?

just buy a 1.6 , it would cost more than its worth , only worth doing if your putting a 172/182 engine in

If you were going through the hassle to change it i would probally put a 2.0 litre in there or not bother.

Yeh it will go up but il have my years no claims in the next week or so, so shouldnt go up to high i hope

Id buy a bigger engined car mate, even if you have modded yours, just buy one and swap the bits over,will be so much cheaper for you

Yeh i was thinking about just buying another car and swaping things over lol, might have to look into it

insurance will be more for a 1.2 thats had a engine uped to 1.6 than just buying a 1.6

not worth the effort just save and buy a 1.6 next year ect when insurance will be v.slightly down
