Bike ITBs for the K4M?

anyone does this?

how hard can it be?

what sorta prices are we lookin at if we do this?

cheers

ideally if its straightforward, can get a mechanic to fit the stuff for free, just basically gonna pay for parts and mapping

It is the cheapest way to do ITBs. But consider that you need the right injectors, then you need a completely custom manifold. Then you need standalone engine management, and a loom built for it. You may need to upgrade the fuel pump I should imagine the internals will be ok as long as you don't move the redline or put cams in.

It's not a job you pay someone to do really. They are mostly used as a cheap option by DIYers :)

I was halfway though doing this on my old 106 quiksilver. you need to do a lot of research, if the inlet track is to close to the valve head then you won't get as much power out of them, stuff like that. Look on the jenvey website it has lots of info on there bout them that you can use. Bogg brothers is the best for an inlet unless you make yourown?:)

its one of them things unless you know exactly what you are doing yourself its not worth doing

not something you can just get a mechanic to bolt on..

im still looking in to bike carbs

inlet manifold design is mad so much maths that no sod actually understands involved

ok fair enough

i just assumed i could get some bike itbs and then a custom inlet along with VEMS management and then mapping and it would e done

sounds harder than just that though now

mini-valver

If you wanted to do it, I'd get the ITB's from an R1 and get a manifold made up, take your inlet manifold and plenum off then bolt the bodies to the car to see whats what regarding clearances. If you have aircon, you'll need brackets to move this too. Then I'd trailor the car to get the ECU fitted and all relevant sensors added and go from there.

The internals WILL take it. Mines set at 7250 on standard bottom end.

what powers ur car running btw mini valver?

n ill have a chat with this guy and see what he says.. coz my mate is also selling his subaru v.4 sti after christmas, and will sort out paying in installments if i take that off him pretty cheap 2

roughly same price as a phase 1 172 so i have no idea what to go for lol

one of our customers has fitted R1 bodies to his K4m engine running an Omex ECU and Omex Loom..

he has it running now, this was also more complex as he installed this into an old school Twingo...

Will be able to report more when we see the car...

ive heard as on my old car was looking to do the same. Bike carbs open and close at different angles or something like that making it harder to use as a daily driver.
