Bit advice needed with ND filter kit

  Meg 225
I want to buy myself a ND filter kit for my D7000, what are the brands to look out for and are there complete kits that are worth looking at? Don't really know much about what stops are used most of the time etc.
Budget is not a big issue, you know what they say: buy cheap, buy twice so i rather spend some money on a decent kit that will last for a long time!

Well if budgets not an issue I would go for a 'Lee' system.

Hopefully with the advance of sensor technology and dynamic range they won't 'need' to last a life time!

Ok so i'll have a look at Lee, what are the most used filters? As i want to buy it all in one time

I have Hi-tech filters.

.3 .6 & .9 ND and .3 .6 & .9 hard grads with a lee holder and adapter. I use mine for mainly landscape photography.

If you want budget filters then Cokin are ok but if you are serious about your pictures then you need to look at Lee or Hi-tech. Skip on Hoya.

Hitech & Lee are the better ones for ND as they're plates (I think both are?) rather than screw on adapters, so you have an adapter for the lens and the filter just slides, so you're investing in glass rather than a lens size!
