Bit of luck!

My rear tyres are on the wear bands (were on the front but swapped them around to buy me some time) so just phoned up local tyre place to get a price on some tyres fitted tomorrow as I can't leave them any longer and wait for mytyres delivery then getting them fitted as at this time of year, it's dodgy.

Anyway, phoned up and they said they had some Yoko's at £58 each which ain't a bad price, so said would need 4 and what tread pattern are they, were they the s.drives?

He said, no, they're the A539's but we only have two of them!

Well bugger me, I said I have two A539's on my car with 5mm tread but couldn't find them anywhere as they don't make them anymore, so wanted 4 new matching ones. Needless to say I was expecting to pay £300ish tomorrow on some tyres, and now I just need to pay £116. And the ones already on the car should last until these new ones are on the way out.

Well I'm happy. Oh and I know this isn't in the tyre section, as it's just talk.

Def cant go wrong for that price mate, i forked out 180quid for a set michelins. Then made an impulse buy 2 months later and got an r27. Ooops:S

I was going to go for Michelins, or Contis, but for the price I would be silly. Can't really fault them, apart from the wet.

Plus I have to pay out £90 to get a new clutch cable fitted, £?? to sort brakes, £50 odd for MOT, £112 or whatever for Tax, and £350ish for insurance, all by the end of January lol.

s**t!:S Just what you dont want before crimbo, i had a massive phone bill and a few other bits to pay for this month which has shafted me 4 crimbo. Damm swanky phone salesman lady with big boobs!!

No. Front wear faster so new ones on the front means all tyres should wear out around the same time. Instead of ending up wasting the rear set which nearly happened this time.

As it's my car, I'm allowed to do this. ;)

my tyre bargain of the day is 215/45/17s for the workhorse for 36.95 a corner. Federals as well which are pretty decent tyres..

Edde is right, its npw michelin policy that the new tyres go on the back. There is good science behind it but cant be arse explaining it as your not gonna listen;)

lol, no I understand why the better ones should go on the back, but they're on the front. Eventually, after say about 10,000 miles, the better one's will be on the back. ;)

No, you're right, the ones I've just replaced did about 6k as they were brand new when I bought it on 42k, and now just clock 48k.
