Black Myth - Wukong benchmark

Potentially the hardware-killer crown has been transplanted to this.

On Steam, they offer a free benchmarking tool and it seems pretty demanding - especially on the water sections. Here's my default benchmark running on a 3090.

Apparently 4090's are heading towards 100fps - which would be interesting if @SharkyUK could confirm?

I ran it with out-of-the-box settings at 3440x1440 to start with ("Cinematic" settings) and got the following:

I then dropped to 2560x1440 and enabled full ray tracing:

Then, 2560x1440 (Very High preset):

And then without Frame Generation (Custom preset to try and guess your settings - Very High for all settings other than Vegetation (High)):

It's quite pretty. 🤣

Tasty!

I'm surprised at the fairly small VRAM increase when your resolution is at 3440 - I thought it would consume more than that?

This looks like a game that may actually be optimised properly to not eat up every little bit of RAM available, therefore making it usable on those GPUs with a measly 8GB (my 3070Ti cries when I say this).

New nVidia driver out today - including a profile for Wukong.

Would be interesting to see if there are any performance gains from it?

I'm trying to get a run with full RT @ 3440 on my system for comparison (before updating the driver) but Steam seems to be down at the moment...

EDIT: Steam is back up and running.

3440x1440p with "Cinematic" preset and Full RT set to "Very High" (as far as I'm aware, this is the highest setting available in the current version of the benchmarking tool).

Driver version 560.81:

Driver version 560.94:

There seems to be a healthy uplift in performance and I observed this over multiple runs (some with the older driver, then having upgraded to the new driver). It appears that VRAM usage has also been improved as Total VRAM Used has dropped approximately 0.5GB.

Regarding VRAM usage, this appears to be pretty good considering the visual fidelity being shown. I'm sure a few tweaks of the full game will see even the most powerful PC's crying, a la Black Myth Crysis.

Cinematic absolutely melts my 3080Ti @ 3840x1600 :ROFLMAO:

And that's without RT.

Definitely going to upgrade to the 5x series.

Like this and wondered how my now oldish 3090 would handle it, not bad but no chance with full setting (as expected), the frame generation on the 40 series cards clearly helps alot as shown in the 4070 Super result above:

3440x1440, Cinematic present with Ray Tracing set to Very high, laughable result but looked amazing through the jerkyness:

3440x1440, Cinematic present with no Ray Tracing, better but probably still not playable, as seen in the graph the 15fps oddity was due to a random jerk mid run:

3440x1440, Very High present with no Ray Tracing, how I would probably play it, although if I bought the game I would probably play with the setting abit so I could at least enable some sort of ray tracing as it appears to be implemented very well.
