Black R26 Detail

  S2 106 GTI
A friend wanted her R26 cleaning due to not having the time or patience to give it a full going over. So a txt later and I was cleaning the meg up - the car was s**t up when it landed up!
I haven't got any before pics as I just wanted to get on with it - but the after pics speak for themselves!

Process was:
-Pressure wash
-Snow foam with Valet Pro
-Rinse off
-Wash with CG Maxi Suds
-Pressure wash
-Clay'd with Zaino and Dodo born slippy
-Washed again
-Pressure wash
-Wheels cleaned with Bilberry + rinsed off
-Dried with Dodo+Sonus towels

-AG SRP x2 coats
-AG EGP
-Collinite 845

-Tires dressed with Megs tire gel
-Glass cleaned with Cif professional cleaner (Fantastic!! and acts like rainX on the exterior)

Black is such a lovely colour when cleaned properly. After a year and a half of owning my black clio, I'm yet to give it a proper clean

Looks fantastic mate. Can't beat clean Black finish.

Just wanted to add if you're doing any details like this in the future invest in some tardis.

Claying is more for tree sap/fallout etc more than tar. Obviously when removing the tar it can sit on the surface of the clay and then be moved back and forth on the paint, never a good thing. Just a little tip for the future. :)

Always wondered how good claying was for the paint.. Specially when a car has never been done before and has about a kilo of tar splattered along bottom third...

Need to give the alfa a good going over at some point as i have only washed it once (3 months ago) never intend to get it in show condition but would like it lightly machine polished.
I did have a brief go at claying it but didnt want to press too hard especially after looking at the crap the clay bar had picked up, but then half the stuff wouldnt come off without applying a decent bit of pressure.
Too many cleaning chemicals and stages/routines to get my head round tbh

PS good job gib!

That's not the correct way to decontaminate a car. Just shows even guys doing it for a living aren't perfect.

Cheers Gally - will take in any advice/tips :)
Always on my mind to get some tardis, just never get round to buying any!!! The paint work of the meg was really gritty feel (horrible!!) soon removed all that.

Could have done with a machine polish really as they were alot of swirls in paint - was less noticeable after SRP but still there.
