Black Rear Light Clusters

  BMW E46 and E36
I don't like the Lexus style rear lights but i don't particularly want to keep the standard look so i was thinking of other alternatives which wouldn't look too chavvy. I've tried searching on here, but no luck.

I like the way the clio has the white circle in the middle so that you can tell from behind that it's the phase 2 mark2. So I have spent a long time looking for a black version but with the white still in the middle. I did find a picture of another clio which has this, but i can't find out how to acomplish this or where i can buy these lights.

Can anyone help?

Would I just mask up the circle in the middle and spray them with the spray you can get from halfords? Or are these lights actually sold as they are?

Thanks a lot,
Sam

most probably tinted, if you choose to tint make sure to get the proper spray as normal car paint wont turn out right..

Apply light coats as its very runny stuff, use some polish to achieve a good shine

That's what i was originally thinking, but is it illegal as you wouldn't see the reflector properly when the car is parked and the lights may look more dim?

I have completley black ones with just the reflector left untinted so technically legal, but the lights do not shine very well through them. They have been professionally tinted and were from Ebay. They do look good, but they are a pain for reversing, you can't see anything in the dark behind you. I had to purchase LED replacements for all my bulbs so you can see them enough not to get hassle from the police.

The guy I got mine from on ebay makes them individually so you could ask him to make some with the circles untinted and maybe with the reflector left. IIRC they were about £50.
