Black RS Grille?

Car  1.2 Dynam & 182FFCup
Pondering through people's progress threads, I see alot of people with RS Grille's that look darker than my standard one.
Apart from C4 Trim restorer, is it fairly common for people to have their grille sprayed?

I sprayed mine satin black with some Plastikote spray paint.

Came up well:

Didn't bother.

G101 (all purpose cleaner) to make sure it was 100% clean.

Dried it.

Sprayed it, 2 coats, then 2 coats of FK1000p (just a sealant to allow the dirt to run off it better)

Here's a bombardment of questions:

How long have you had it sprayed? and has it faded at all yet?

Can you link me to or let me know where I can buy it?

Oh right fair play, I'll go about purchasing some of that paint then and get on it tonight.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Took me a while, I went to three different B&Q's and all three of them were out of satin black. Found out Hobbycraft sells bucket loads of the stuff.

Not as noticeable as yours, though I really quite like it subtlety.

This thread helped me out alot and saved me asking the same questions! I'm definitely going to do the same thing!

just done my grill with the plasti kote stuff! has come up very well.

Just about to go out and fit it, just hope i don't scratch it while putting it back as i took it off with the bumper still on!

Mine was a bit of trouble, I didn't take the bumper off either, it's just leaving it to cure overnight I found it had warped somewhat.

My mk3 rs grill has gone a grey couler there toss lol I was going to have mine sprayed at a cost of £40 but thinking of doing it my self now
