black smoke

  04 dci
after a turbo change, (before clouds of smoke) now i get a puff of blast smoke when the throttle is on the floor, the rest of the time its fine.. any ideas? it smells almost rotten eggy out of the exhaust..

second the car is still using a load of oil, its used about half a litre in a few hundred miles, i noticed oil all down the front of the engine and a wee pool in one of the head bolts, it looks like the rocker gasket has had it,

so i was wondering can rocker gaskets let out this much oil?

what about filler cap seals, it seems to be dribbling a bit too

cheers for your help

Black smoke is usualy to much fuel not enuff air, check for leaks in boost pipes, intercooler etc. And depending on how badly perished the rocker gasket is. Get some brake cleaner and clean as much as you can and keep an eye on it. Also check the turbo feed and returns arent leaking.

ok cheers, em one of the rubber sleeves is torn which the outlet of the air intake on the turbo goes on to? could that be an air leak?
