Yes it does. It contains certain oils that remove the polish residues.
Failing that (and a cleaner method), WD40 or a pencil eraser or a JML magic sponge. All three are tried and tested by me, so I'm happy to suggest them. All three do require time and elbow grease. Remember to then follow up with a degreaser/APC to clean the trim, then a decent wipe down with IPA to ensure what ever you choose as a trim product lasts.
Because of an older post by JD regarding this, I now use WD40 on my black trim all the time. I usually apply to a microfibre then scrub the surface. I dont do anything after that and it seems to repel water as well.

Quick question, I applied CG new look trim gel to my Mum's Mini Cooper last week, looks good but everything sticks to it, dog hairs, dust, feathers etc. I applied it very thin too. Any ideas why it's happening ? It's a brand new car btw so trim has only been washed with BTBM, hasn't needed an apc/degreaser.
You need to degrease it Kane as the delear ect.. will have lots of silicone s**t on it and it won't last.
Take it all off. And start again. 10/15 minutes after applying the NLTG go back around the car and wipe the excess off. It's the excess that's the sticky part.
