Black Xbox 360 HD-DVD

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
I know HD-DVD is dead in the water these days, but I still find it useful to have around and have a good few HD-DVDs for it. I've left the HD-DVD alone until recently when my Premium console packed in and I replaced it with another Elite (to go with the one I have downstairs) so seeing as I have Elites now I decided to give it a go spraying it black.

I was surprised at the lack of guides etc on doing it on the net, so I decided to just go for it (usually when I attempt spraying myself it usually ends in disaster, so I tend to avoid it)

I'm pretty pleased with the results and it was really quite easy to do:

Gareth, if you dont mind, could you do a guide on what you did r.e the spraying and what paint/process you used?

Cheers

All I did was go to Halfords and buy a Matt Black rattle can, dismantle the drive and spray straight on to it. A few places online I did manage to find said they had done the same (no sanding or primer etc) and it looks well enough for it.

Good work!

I did mine too, then sold it a few weeks ago with 25+ HDs.

Looks so much better black, but as you say it's dead tech although the quality is still great!
