BlackBerry Phones...

...anyone use one of these babies?

Currently got my eye on either:

BlackBerry Pearl 8100g [White]

OR, a T-Mobile MDA Vario [as the other half has this phone]

Opinions, if any?

Those are both really old.

Theres a vario 3 out soon and a pearl 2.

But those above, are whats currently available on the t-mob website. There is a vario II, but don't like the look of that one!

I have a mda 3 (the second one) without the keyboard. Best phone I've had. Even though it has shitty windows on it. You can get rid of it. I was going to get the new HTC Touch, but didnt fancy paying through the nose for it atm.

it really depands on what you are going to use it for mate. The Blackberry is really good if you are gonig to use it for email and thats sort of thing. vario 1 is a bit old and t-mobile and bring out the vario 3 in October. Which is going to have windows mobile 6 on it which is alot better.

pearl was pony, I got a curve after putting up with the pearl for nearly 5 months

The Pearl will be a bloody nightmare if you actually want to do email on it, has predictive text and tiny buttons.

The Curve is nice but getting a bit old now, I'm upgrading everyone at work to the BB 8820.

I used to use an HTC TyTn at my old place, similar to the MDA and that was excellent.

You're joking...it's only been out about 4 months, i remember getting the test unit before it was released in May!

had the choice of an 8820 but they're massive! although a couple of my lads have gone for them

Well I gave T-mob a call today. They said the Vario III is NOW available, so got it on a 18 month contract, with web 'n' walk.

Now I am looking for free themes and stuff to put on the Vario III, kinda give it my own touch!

Any idea's if there are any FREE themes available for download?

After working with these things day in day out for the last few years I hate them all!

Although had a play with a Curve today, looked alright if you want that kinda thing.
