bleeding brakes...

  TRACK CAR BREAKING
right fitting my new brakes and braided hoses today..
my car has dot-4 in atm but i was told to put in dot 5-1.. what is actually the difference?
i take it i will have to bleed the hole system..
i cant remember but dont you have to start with the rear right wheel, then the rear left?
then front right then front left?
also what happens if i was to mix it?... im going to try not too lol

thanks

you need to make sure you clear out all the dot 4 stuff. So buy too much dot 5.1 and feed through about a litre (250ml per corner ish), then put in the other bottle. This should flush out the old stuff. Alternatively, dot 4 is fine. Castrol super dot 4 i've never had a problem with on track. The easiest way to do it is get some coloured brake fluid, the name escapes me at the mo, it's blue though.
