I noticed when I went out this morning the temp reading said 1 degrees. also the oC bit was flashing? Whats this about - is this to warn you that the roads might be icy or something ?

The temp in my car has been stuck on -0 C (how does it work its -0 not just 0???)

Maybe -0.45 and not 0.45 ? Does the oC bit in yours flash Geoff ir is mine warning me that something isnt right?

Yeah, the oC flashes when the temp is below 4oC.
