So anyone know which dept of the council one contacts to put in a claim? Theres one wheel completely fvcked, the rear may be shagged.

So the tyre fitters have balanced the rear and swapped it to the front and the front to the back. They now want me to drive it again and see whether its wandering to determine whether the trackings been knocked out or anythings been bent.

Not sure - AFAIK, if they dont know of the fault, you cannot claim against them.

Theres a number you can ring, to tell them about holes/faults.

Once they are aware of the fault, then theyre responsible.

Thasts the idea I got anyway...

I spoke to the highways department of the local council when i smacked my exhaust on a raised bit of tarmac, spoke to them about paying for the repairs and he never got back to me, after 3 chasing phone calls i got bored, plus damage wasnt as bad as i had orignally though

i rang up, reported a pot hole

got a form sent out 2 me after writing 2 them saying i wanted to claim

i sent back the claim form, 3 weeks gone now and not heard anything, hole is still there aswell lol, theyve made a sh!t attempt at sorting it

think they have 8 weeks maybe to reply 2 me though, my local council sucks though, i doubt ill get a penny, all u see everyday is wardens giving ppl tickets, even at 9pm some nights there still at it the coonts

Theres millions of pot holes in Edinburgh city centre, Im sure my steering is f**ked just now cause of them

i hit a pothole, and got a puncture! it was a bad one cos it ripped the steel wall of my tyre too. cost me 116 quid for a new one :O(

I was convinced it shouldve ripped the wheel off it was that bad.

Just spoke to Manchester City Council and theyre sending me a claim form out and going to inspect it. I told them about another road nearby as well that I noticed after the event had a shedload of really bad potholes in it.

Its probably from the recent warm/cold snaps freezing and thawing it, and then the surface failing.

its a nightmare driving on the roads at the moment because there are so many potholes!
