Blown rear GAZ dampers

I recently installed a used set (will I ever learn?!) of coilovers consisting of H&R fronts and adjustable GAZ rears.
After raising them a tad I can tell the car has become quite nervous and the rear feels a bit loose and I'm fairly sure it's the rear dampers.

Either new OE dampers (Cup?) or I was thinking adjustable Konis paired with the height adjustable springs that came with the GAZ.

Any other ideas? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Chances are its the rears. Well known for unsettling how clios feel. Probably most motors lol. I changed my back 2 oem units and the difference is night and day. Manhole covers no longer force me to correct the car in the wet at 15mph....

Just replace both units with Renault, rides decent even with stiffer springs.

I'll try and swap back the old OE dampers to see if the seasickness-feeling disappears.

I was just wondering since I already have height adjustable springs, is it a good idea to run stock dampers or should I go Koni for example?

Myabe if it was a hardcore track vehicle.

I run the Eibach sportlines on normal dampers on my 182 and it rides fine on the road.

Have you tried to play with the rear damper settings (i.e trying something very soft)? Are they leaking at all?

I take it the rear still has springs on the beam?

I set them to fairly soft when installing them, 10 clicks or so which was fine when the springs were in the lowest.
I later had new Michelin PS3 installed and asked them to raise the rear a bit and I got the car back feeling like a boat, hence my suspicion of blown shocks.
I did however increase the stiffness to 4/5th or so last night and some of the loose feeling went away but my God what a harsh ride, absolutely unbearable!

Springs are on the beam, correct.
I can't see any leaks and the dampers seem to work fine it's just the weird seasick-feeling that leaves me intrigued..

It will most likely be the rear dampers, maybe only one side, who knows, send them to GAZ they will reseal them, I set I had last 3 months of road use at the rear, utterly naff quality, but in fairness to them they did reseal and send them back to me.

Took the car to work today and it does feel better with increased stiffness.
Phoned the local dealership, they want £80 for the rear damper, each!
Sigh..

I bought them used without a receipt and shipping alone would probably be as much a pair of new dampers. Thanks for the tip anyway!

I'm in Sweden so steep shipping is the main issue.
Two new shocks and a few other bits ordered from Renault Wolves while at work today. :up:
Got laughed at by a colleague as why I'm buying "Exhaust hangers from the UK".
