blue smoke coming out of my exhaust

Hi there i have just been told that my car is giving out blue smoke. I was just wondering what is the problem i have a bit of an idea but just want to no how much would it cost to get it sorted out and the what is th problem.

Get a leakdown test done most half decent garages will have the equipent to do it, at least then youl know where its coming from before you make any decisions as to what you wanna do

is blue smoke not a suggestion that the car is burning oil iirc? if so worn valves or piston rings?
