bonnet keeps opening ?

another day another problem..

my bonnet keeps opening when i go over about 50mph - it doesn't total open but it opens on the latch bit (asif i have released it from inside)

when i close it and pull it up it doesn't open but if i wiggle it side to side and pull it, it does open but the bit it locks onto looks fine and i cant see anyway of adjusting it tighter


maybe a new cable needed???


anybody else had this problem

its a ph1 with ally bonnet btw

Wasn't this a recall fault by Renault?

Was your car affected by the recall? or was it just ph2? Go to a renault garage and try and blag it mate.

ahhh I dint know anything about this might take it down there see what they say - although its only just started to happen ??

Ye ye it was both the mark 2 ph1 and mark2 ph2 that had to have the recall i found this out wen i went to have my throttle body replaced

Can't believe there is people with clios who still don't know about the recall. Especially someone who's on here so must have a slight interest.

it was a recall on the ph1 from memory. Get a new catch mate. Last thing you want is it to fly up and smash the windscreen etc

not owned it that long mate plus i had a quick search and found nothing (apart from people that cant open there bonnet)

but thanks for the help guys will take it down there today if i get a chance
