Bonnet liner

I've seen in another thread someone telling another guy to take it out, was wondering what if any benefits there are to doing this? Much thanks in advance.

I wondered this as mine is missing a rivet thing that holds in place in the middle so keeps rubbing on the throttle body.

ive fucked mine off. only a tad noisier ( sp )

No benefit to take it off other than looking cleaner in engine bay. Can't see it doing any harm, i've not had it for the past 2 years on my cars.
